Cornerstones

The following cornerstones are utilized throughout the development cycle.

Collaboration

We rely on collaboration, both internal and external. We feel that it is our strongest asset.

Technical

We reliably solve technical and analytical issues so our clients can focus on better serving their customers.

Creative

We use our creativity to provide solutions that give our customers the greatest value for the cost. Don’t blame us if it also beautiful!

Right Solution

We use appropriate technology – the right solution to the problem, not the most expensive, nor the untested leading edge.

Cost Effective

We provide services on time and within budget. Have big ideas but a small budget? No problem. We can tell you what can be accomplished within your current budget and help you to create a plan for future development.

Advocate for the Learner

At Fern River, we are an advocate for the learner.  For example, if training is boring or tedious, critical information will be lost.  We always strive to engage the learner and keep them focused, and may actually insert a little fun.  But, we also know there must be a balance between things that may be more fun and cost.  Whatever the delivery method, there are always methods for engagement.

Culture Change

Many times the “Why do I need this training?” is too subtle or missing altogether.  We understand the need for culture change that brings people back to the table for training.  For example, if an electrician has been on the job for 20 years, he may think “I don’t need this training — there is nothing more to learn.”  But, what they may not realize is that a lot of fatalities and major injuries are from people with a lot of experience.  Maybe they were distracted, “lost in the work,” etc.  As soon as you examine a real-life case such as this, you have their attention.
